Obtaining a copy of the model
OVERSEER® is freely available and can be downloaded or ordered from this site. Installation of the software is straightforward. Once loaded, it operates on a stand-alone basis on PCs and does not require an internet connection. Click on the links to download or order a copy. Information is also provided on the minimum PC requirements to satisfactorily run OVERSEER®. Registration is optional but does allow you to receive updates and notification of developments in the model.

A strength of OVERSEER® is that it is designed to use only input data that are relatively easily obtained from the farm – or defaults can be used if data are unavailable.
Farm systems and nutrient flows within these systems are complex, with many interactions. Although it is relatively straightforward to enter data into OVERSEER®, a sound understanding of agricultural systems is required to get the most from the model.
Whilst we do not wish to discourage users from exploring OVERSEER® and its benefits, if it is to be used for on-farm decision making, it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that OVERSEER® is run by a well trained person. Details of training.
